Oregon Social Learning Center

The Oregon Social Learning Center (OSLC) was established in 1977 building on the work of Gerry Patterson. It is a world leader in the theory and application of parent management techniques and in understanding how children behave in groups. The Center's reputation rests on its innovative methods, longitudinal studies of the general population and at-risk children and families, and the development and rigorous evaluation of prevention programs. Observational methods, the Oregon Youth Study, parent management training programs and Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care (MTFC) are among OSLC achievements. The Center is beginning to contribute to evidence on effective Type 2 research translation techniques.
