Nurse-Family Partnership

Nurse-Family Partnership is a home visiting early intervention program for first-time low-income mothers and their families. It focuses on personal and environmental health, the quality of care for the child, the mothers’ education and employment and their social resources.

Its goals are healthier pregnancies, improved child development and health and greater self-sufficiency. Engagement with the program starts during pregnancy and involves home visits by trained nurses, referrals to community resources, and the development of within-family resources for the child.
