Class Wide Peer Tutoring

Class Wide Peer Tutoring (CWPT) is a teaching system developed at the University of Kansas by school psychologist Charles R. Greenwood, who is also Director of the Juniper Gardens Children’s Project.

It has been shown to improve performance in math, reading and language and is one of the Best Evidence Encyclopedia’s top-rated programs for improving math education in elementary schools.

Several experimental evaluations have shown that children who take part in CWPT acquire skills faster, have greater memory for what has been learned and achieve higher academic grades when compared to students who receive traditional methods of teaching. It is considered to be particularly effective for children with learning disabilities.
