Internal validity refers to questions regarding the validity of a single study. For example, in an experimental evaluation of program impact on children's behavior, those questions will include: have the right measures been used? is the sample of sufficient size to identify an effect? and does rate of children dropping out of the study undermine the ability to detect that effect?
