Douglas Harris is Associate Professor of Educational Policy Studies in the Institute for Research on Poverty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
His research explores the educational role of factors such as families and neighborhoods and how educational outcomes affect the long-term labor market success of individual students and the overall competitiveness of national economies. His methods include value-added modeling, mixed methods, and cost analysis. He consults widely on policy matters with organizations including the National Academy of Sciences, RAND, the US Department of Education, and state education agencies.
