Emanuel Miller

Emanuel Miller (1893-1970) was a founding father of child and adolescent psychiatry in the UK. He is credited with establishing clinics that became the forerunner for freely available child and adolescent mental health services in the UK. He helped establish the Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health, (alongside the Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychology and Psychiatry) and the Institute for the Study and Treatment of Delinquency (alongside the British Journal of Criminology). An annual lecture is given in his name by a leading thinker on child development.
