Health Behaviour in School-age Children

This instrument has been used by the World Health Organization for over 20 years. It collects information on: family resources and structure peer interaction risk behaviors how healthy children think they are sexual health physical activity eating habits self-care. Samples are constructed to get 1,500 children in three age groupings -11, 13, and 15 years- in each participating country. The instruments are administered in classrooms by trained administrators.

The Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) is conducted every three years with the objective of assessing young people's knowledge and life skills. The measure captures: reading, mathematics and science literacy study and learning practices family resources the organisation of schools problem solving skills. The instrument is applied every three years or so in about 40 economically developed countries. A nationally representative sample of children aged 15 years (when compulsory schooling is coming to an end) is constructed in each participating country. Generally speaking sample sizes are between 4,000 and 10,000 pupils per country.
