James Heckman

Jim Heckman is the Henry Schultz Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago. His work on solutions to selection bias in non-random samples, known as the Heckman correction, led to his award of the Nobel Prize in Economics. Heckman’s studies into human development and lifecycle skill formation, with a special emphasis on the economics of early childhood education, have been important in promoting prevention in the United States.
