The Campbell Collaboration ninth annual Colloquium takes place between Monday 18th May and Wednesday 20th May 2009, in Oslo. The theme of this years conference is 'Better Evidence for a Better World'.
Presentations focus on low and middle income countries, asking questions about how much we know about the effectiveness of programs intended to improve the lives of people in the global effort against poverty.
There is an important overlap between social and health policy, with many interventions targeting the same individuals across disciplines. This Colloquium will examine how social and health policies interrelate, bearing in mind the need to systematically build the best possible evidence base for future policies and programs.
The Campbell Collaboration is an independent, international organization that provides information about the effects of interventions in the social, behavioral and educational arenas. Its main activity is preparing, maintaining and disseminating systematic reviews of existing evidence. The work is aimed at policy makers, service providers, intermediary organizations and service users.
